Smoothing Eye Cream

A smoothing eye cream for the skin around the eyes when it looks tired, feels dry or shows fine lines. The texture is light, and it suits oily as well as mature skin. It is made to soften the look of lines and keep the area moisturised, not to change how the skin is built. Organic aloe leaf juice takes the place of water as the first ingredient, with jojoba oil and glycerin. Sodium PCA and two forms of hyaluronic acid help the skin hold water, and dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline, an amino acid derivative used in skincare for smoother-looking skin, is paired with organic shea butter. Rather than a synthetic ceramide, the formula uses plant glycosphingolipids and glycolipids, lipids of the ceramide family, with palmitic and stearic acids. Horse chestnut seed extract, escin (a compound isolated from the same seed) and black tea leaf extract come near the end of the list, and vitamin E protects the oils. Pat a small amount onto clean skin around the eye area, keeping it out of the eyes themselves. On puffy-looking mornings you can mix in a drop of the Caffeine Gel Booster. The cream contains fragrance (parfum, with limonene, linalool, coumarin and geraniol from natural essential oils), so patch-test first if scent tends to irritate your skin.
