Acne Spot Care

A spot serum for the occasional blemish: you apply a small amount only where a spot is, rather than over the whole face. It is made for acne-prone skin that needs targeted care without drying out everywhere else. Salicylic acid, an oil-soluble exfoliant that can work inside the pore, is included at 2%, alongside 3% tea tree leaf oil. Kaolin clay and charcoal powder help absorb excess oil around the spot, while organic aloe leaf juice, glycerin and sodium PCA keep the surrounding skin from feeling tight. Small amounts of argan oil, rose myrtle, gooseberry and blueberry extracts and vitamin E complete the formula. Dab a small amount directly onto the blemish on clean skin; there is no need to spread it. It contains fragrance (parfum, with limonene, citral, linalool, citronellol and geraniol) as well as tea tree oil, both of which can irritate sensitive skin, so patch-test first and avoid broken skin. It is a cosmetic, not an acne medicine: if breakouts are frequent, painful or leave scars, see a GP or dermatologist.
